As both a professional accreditor of the scholarly pursuits, and a connoisseur of the many applications of science, I wish to welcome you to Manchester and advise you not to be deceived by the seemingly sparse populace or the apparent confinement of its geography; that is, comparatively, when examined side by side with cities like New York, Seattle, or Los Angeles, our humble city may seem quaint and backward, and less significant than cities that boast a more diverse range of demographics. Likewise, it lacks the appeal of a true rural retreat, being nowhere near as isolated or as safe from malevolent influence as the numerous backwoods of upstate New Hampshire. However, over time I hope you will find the city an optimal mix of both the natural and the urban -- much of Manchester is located in an area less than an hour's walk between a safe, desolate woodland and a crowded downtown commercial district. I trust these two extremes, though heavy in contrast, will be to your liking, and hope you will forthcoming if you have any concerns with residing in our area. Please -- if you need anything at all, do not hesitate to contact me or any of my cohorts. Creatures of our ilk should stick together, and I would be more than inclined to extend a hand if you have any pressing concerns.
Yours truly,
~ Prescott
